The latest information on the overhaul of 45133

Update November 2024: Recent work has concentrated on preparing the radiator fan roof section for refitting to the loco. Weld repairs to the underside of the roof section has been completed and the area repainted. The fan grille has had the old paint stripped ready for repainting. In the meantime a brand new set of batteries was installed on 28/10/24 and the No.2 compressor was run up on 10/11/24, as a start was made on electrical testing. Other work has included final jobs on the engine, such as reconnecting the rocker assemblies.

Members Working Days

Working days on 45133 take place mainly on Sundays throughout the year, with some weekdays also arranged. Members all work together with numerous tasks on the loco. No specific skills are needed, just enthusiasm….we’ll guide you through the various work needed.
What’s in it for you?  You’ll be helping to get 45133 back in service and you’ll get to learn new skills/apply existing ones along with meeting the friendly bunch who work in the diesel shed at weekends.
