The Society was formed in 1986 to preserve an example of the British Railways designed Class 45/1 locomotive. No.45133 was purchased in 1990 and regularly operates at the Midland Railway Butterley, as well as at other heritage railways around the UK. The Society became a Registered Charity (No.1168290) in 2016. If you would like to help restore and maintain 45133 in operational condition, please browse this site for the various ways you can do this and consider joining the Society using the 'Join Us' button above.
